Lenten Book Study Group - Feb 12 and 26, March 11 and 25

Mondays at 7:00 PM , in person at St. Martin’s and on Zoom

An open invitation:

Please join our Lenten discussion of the book Families on the Edge: Experiences of Homelessness and Care in Rural New England. We have scheduled four meetings to take place on Monday evenings every other week at 7:00, both in person and over Zoom, beginning February 12.

Those joining in person will gather in the renovated Undercroft of St. Martin’s church and will enjoy coffee and Danish to compensate for their trip in the icy Vermont winter. Those joining over Zoom will be able to use the normal St. Martin’s Zoom link on St. Martin’s website. Please let Rachel and Bill know if you are planning to attend either way so that enough coffee will be brewed and so that the web link (St. Martin's Lenten book discussion) can be emailed the day of meeting, especially to people who are affiliated with other parishes in our constellation.

Families on the Edge can be purchased at the Norwich Bookstore and from Amazon for $35 at either location. A digital copy of the text is attached to this email. For our first meeting, we will be discussing Chapter 1, “Introduction,” and Chapter 2, “Becoming Homeless in Rural New England.”

Isaiah 58:7—"Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?”
